The High Peaks region includes the largest state-designated Wilderness in the state, many of the state’s tallest mountains, as well as pristine lakes and streams including the source of the Hudson River. This area offers a range of recreation opportunities accessed through Newcomb, Keene Valley, Keene, Lake Placid, and other communities.
